if there's anything you'd like from india...shoes (bamboo sandals or those beaded slipper things are Awesome), bangles, earrings, shirt, sari fabric, salwar khameez (Indian equivalent of Normal Everyday Clothes, rather than a sari...like this or this), alcohol, Gunpati figurines, soup spoons, hindipop cds, whatever...just tell me. things are crazycheap and you can just pay me back when i return. which is the 27th, by the by.
seriously. $20 would probably feed a family of five for three weeks. and none of the items listed above would likely surpass $10. so. comment/email.

mmm...of what sort?
options may include a) hindi music, which is actually the soundtrack to a hindi movie that involves a lot of singing; b) remixes of the former, known to frequent diskotheks; c) classical sitar-crazy stuff; d) an eclectic variety of western music probably five times cheaper than it's sold in america.

hi ali feenstra, my mother would also like to order some cool jewelry for which she will certainly reimburse you.

also she says if you have room, she will take any sort of cool fabric you might stumble across. i know that is a weird request but then again this is my mother.

do you know your european size? i'm about an 8 1/2 or 9 but my size in slippers has varied from 39 to 42...so, relative to my foot?

my mom says she is either going to make pillows or a wall hanging of some sort. she says several yards of sari-ish fabric, under like $40. i know this is still vague but it's better! and thank you soooo much for all the fuss with this stuff!

You have sooo many cooler present opportunities than I. My options were a) overpriced clothes b) tchotchke souvenier CRAP and c) Italian tshirts with English words. Or ice cream, which melts but is DELICIOUS.

MELTED ICE CREAM IS AWESOME.
they have something called "burfi" here that is amazing. and it comes in mango flavor. and i eat that and dried mango and Oh. Oh.
did you learn foodpreparationing? because i'm having a Back From India reception on [[Sept 10, I believe]] and making Indian food (kicheree and poa and chapatis and idon'tknowwhatelse) and it will be awesome. and you should do the same. in fact, maybe we should share. i don't know. i have to ask my mother.

AND I BOUGHT A SARI YESTERDAY
AND GUESS WHO IS GETTING HER NOSE PIERCED TODAY.

ali i am in pure jealousy of your amazing summer... while i am stuck in atrias hell you are getting piercings and seeing monkeys..crazy indian stuff would be amazing along with crazy stories of indians.... or you could just bring me back my own indian.. i guess that might be kinda illegal but i could deal with it

Also maybe I would like a salwar khameez like the 1st one, but not an expensive one. Also, lots of people asked for stuff so disregard my requests if you don't have enough India money. Shirts are and Would Be cool. I have no original shirts, and probably and Indian one would surpass all the originality in my wardrobe put together. So, yeah if it's under or around $10, please do purchase.
